Free Info Orientation for “Music Therapy Group” (8/26)
Come with questions and meet the music therapists at a Free Information Orientation on Wed., August 26th at 10:30AM at Pioneer United Methodist Church (1338 Lincoln Way, Auburn). Learn about the Fall Session of an 8-week “Crescendo Chorus” Music Therapy for adults (and their caregivers/family) affected by Neurologically Impairment (Autism, Parkinson’s, stroke and traumatic brain injury) that will be available on Wednesdays starting September 16th through November 4th (10:30-12PM) at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Auburn. In Music Therapy, we will sing, move, make music and support each other while addressing therapeutic goals (walking, talking, thinking). Sponsorships are also needed for Fall Session, so if you are a business, organization, or individual that would like to make a tax deductible donation to directly sponsor this valuable program, please contact our Music Therapy partner, Colla Voce of the Sierra (http://www.collavoce.org/). This program is sustained through your generous donations ($149 will sponsor one person and their family member and/or caregiver). For more info, contact Tara McConnell, MT-BC at 916/996-1589 or tara.mmts@gmail.com.

An 8-week “Crescendo Chorus” Music Therapy will be available for neurologically impaired (Autism, Parkinson’s, stroke and trauma) patients on Wednesdays starting September 16th through November 4th (10:30-12PM) at Pioneer United Methodist Church (1338 Lincoln Way, Auburn). Music Therapy can provide a meaningful experience using singing as a tool to sustain and support vocal abilities, and help in the social, emotional, physical and spiritual health of people of all ages, as well as, be very useful as a complementary therapy for developmental, psychiatric, and medical concerns. The Crescendo Chorus is led by McConnell Music Therapy staff with advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy, partnered with Colla Voce of the Sierra, an exceptionally talented chorus. We are registering people now for our group starting May 6, and due to the donations provided by Sutter Medical Group, Colla Voce and McConnell Music Therapy, we can offer the chorus at a reduced rate.
