A Woman’s Friend Pregnancy Resource Center in Marysville will host its annual Walk for Life & Diaper Derby on Saturday, May 7th (9AM-Noon) at Ellis Lake in Marysville. Your participation in this fun family event helps A Woman's Friend restore hope to those facing unexpected pregnancies and ensure a future for their unborn child by providing free tests and verifications, medical services, ultrasounds, abortion information, mentoring, and material assistance -- just some of the many services that offer hope and empower women to choose life. Placer Veterans Stand Down, an event geared to serve Veterans and their families, on May 24-26 (8AM-4PM) at Roseville Fairgrounds (800 All American City Blvd., Roseville), will provide free services such as: meals, overnight stay (optional, pets included), legal, dental, medical, hearing and eye services, veterinarian services, haircuts and showers, and assistance with housing and employment, child support, DMV services, home repair assistance, clothes and personal care supplies, VA Benefit Assistance, and Health and Human Services Assistance. Please spread the word to veterans and their families that are in need of help. Register ahead for medical and dental services. The Legacy Challenge 5K
The Fathering Coalition (an affiliate of Shoulder To Shoulder) presents The Legacy Challenge 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 18th (7AM Registration, 8:30-10:30AM Walk/Run, 11AM Awards) at the State Capitol Building, West Steps (1315 10th Street, Sacramento), where families and community leaders will honor fathers that are doing a great job in our region.
